The Yellowstone universe isn’t done with us yet. This March, fans return to Montana for Marshals, a new sequel series that puts Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) back in the saddle — this time with a badge.

Premiering Sunday, March 1 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS, Marshals picks up after the events of Yellowstone Season 5, following Kayce as he steps away from the ranch and into a dangerous new role as part of an elite U.S. Marshals unit in Montana. It’s still the modern West, still rooted in loyalty, land, and consequence, but viewed through a sharper, law-and-order lens.

For longtime Yellowstone fans, this isn’t a reinvention. It’s a continuation. And the stakes feel just as personal. Here’s a look at the cast of Marshals.

Familiar Favorites Returning From 'Yellowstone'

Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton

Kayce has always lived between worlds — the Dutton legacy, the Broken Rock Reservation, and his own moral code. Now, as a U.S. Marshal, he’s tasked with enforcing the law while carrying the weight of his past. Luke Grimes brings the same quiet intensity that made Kayce one of Yellowstone’s most compelling figures, only now the conflicts are even more direct.

Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater

The chairman of the Broken Rock Reservation returns as a powerful presence in Kayce’s life. Thomas remains a voice of conscience and strategy, navigating politics, sovereignty, and survival in a Montana that keeps changing.

Mo Brings Plenty as Mo

Steady, observant, and deeply loyal, Mo continues to be a grounding force. His connection to tradition and community adds emotional depth as Kayce’s new role pulls him further from the world he knows.

Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton

Tate’s story continues as he grows up in the shadow of his father’s choices. His presence keeps Kayce anchored to family — even as the job pulls him into dangerous territory.

And a Few New Faces…

Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin

A key figure within the Marshals unit, Pete brings experience and edge to Kayce’s new professional world. Expect friction and hard choices.

Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner

Kebbel joins the cast in a role tied closely to Kayce’s evolving life, adding emotional complexity and new dynamics outside the ranch.

Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz

A rising presence in the series, Santos brings grit and urgency to the law-enforcement side of the story.

Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle

Means adds further depth to the show’s exploration of identity, loyalty, and justice in the modern West.

Brett Cullen as Harry Gifford

Longtime character actor Brett Cullen (The West Wing, Joker) rounds out the cast as Harry Gifford, the head of the U.S. Marshals in Montana.

Why 'Marshals' Feels Like a Natural Next Chapter

At its core, Marshals is still about belonging, responsibility, and the cost of doing what you believe is right. The ranch may be behind Kayce, but Montana isn’t — and neither are the consequences of his choices. For fans who loved the moral tension and character-driven storytelling of Yellowstone, this series keeps that spirit alive while opening up new terrain.
