How to Order WWE SummerSlam with DISH

There are three ways to order the WWE Summerslam PPV for $59.99 with DISH: By remote on channels 454-530, online, or by phone at 1-877-DISH PPV (855-8693). Now here’s a preview of our five most-anticipated matches at WWE SummerSlam 2025.

Match #1 - WWE Undisputed Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena

The story - They say that the good guys are often best in pursuit of the title, and Cody Rhodes is certainly a man possessed in his attempt to win back the Undisputed Championship. Triumphing in the King of the Ring tournament, he secured the right to challenge Big Match John for the belt. Cena, fully embracing his role as the villain, almost got away with avoiding the match…until Rhodes applied some literal pressure at their contract signing to make it official. Wrestling contracts usually have a twist though, and in this case, the surprise was that the match will be a street fight. A wrestler (and entertainer) as seasoned as Cena should know to always read the fine print before you sign…

Why we’re excited - If we’re being honest, any main event Cena match on this retirement tour will be in our top 5 (we are shameless). It’s been awesome watching a true legend go out on his own terms while he can still go. Even beyond that, the irony of this match is incredible. Cena was the standard-bearer for WWE for so long, with countless villains standing in his way. Who could have guessed that, in the twilight of his career, Cena would be the one causing headaches for the new face of the company, the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes? Just sit back and appreciate this one. And also pack some Tums, because this street fight could make you queasy.

Match #2 - WWE World Championship Match: Gunther vs. CM Punk

The story - Speaking of having to overcome long odds, CM Punk had to overcome a torn tricep, a decade away from the company, and a gauntlet match to secure his shot at the WWE World Championship. His reward for this effort? Having to go toe-to-toe with the Ring General Gunther. If the Second City Saint isn’t careful, he may lose more than just a shot at the title – he might lose a few tendons.

Why we’re excited - Given their history and both being in the relative last act of their careers, it is fitting that CM Punk follows Cena in our hype index. The difference here is that CM Punk is looking to complete a redemption arc (finish the story, if you will) rather than end someone else’s. After a decade away from the company – and with his return to WWE often looking out of the question – CM Punk has beaten the odds and overcome his body to secure a shot at the top. It would be an incredible cap to his comeback to be able to hoist the world championship gold. That being said, we can’t think of a worse matchup for an older, somewhat injury-prone veteran. Simply put, Gunther hits hard. We have a feeling Punk is going to need some ice after this (or possibly a wheelchair). It will be clobbering time…but for who?

Match #3 - WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez vs Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss

The story - What happens when a cohesive unit goes up against a team of superstars who openly cop to not being friends? We’re about to find out. After losing her shots at individual glory, Charlotte Flair wasn’t quite ready to try a new approach, turning down Alexa Bliss’ offers to team up multiple times. Eventually she relented, though the two failed to capture gold from the Judgment Day, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, at Evolution. Possibly leveraging some of her Flair clout, Charlotte was able to secure a match at SummerSlam, but how will the unlikely frenemies, both world champions on their own, combine in their pursuit of shared gold?

Why we’re excited - Teamwork makes the dream work, but being incredible individually can help too (looking at you, NBA stars). The pedigree that Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss bring to the table certainly dwarfs their competition (though Raquel dwarfs everyone). That being said, can they put aside their egos to accomplish their shared goal, especially with opponents who are on the same page? This may seem like a cliché story, but rarely are the “protagonists” this decorated in their own right. Selfishly, we are rooting for Charlotte/Alexa just to see what happens when they inevitably butt heads and devolve into a feud. For this night though, they don’t have to be friends, they just need to NOT be enemies. If they can’t do that, it doesn’t matter how many titles they have between them, the Judgment Day will be the ones standing over them as they stare up at the bright lights of Metlife Stadium.

Match #4 - WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill

The story - This one is pretty straightforward: the queen of the ring (and walking statue) Jade Cargill calling her shot against the probable-future-and-definitely-present of the women’s division, Tiffany Stratton. This could be the first of a decade of clashes between these two pillars of the women’s division. Speaking of pillars, did we mention that Jade is chiseled out of granite?

Why we’re excited - What happens when two stars on a meteoric rise collide? It was not too long ago that Tiffy Time was biding her time in NXT, catapulting herself not only to the head of the line but also securing her title win (some mentorship from WWE legend Trish Stratus probably didn’t hurt). One could say the same for Jade Cargill. Fresh off a massive winning streak during her time in AEW, she debuted in WWE and quickly entered the title picture, though largely in a tag team capacity. Now she gets her shot to leave her own mark on the women’s division (and Tiffany). The winner of this match will no doubt signal to the rest of the locker room that she is going to be a problem for the next 10+ years.

Match #5 - Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul

The story - Oh man, where do we start with this one? While Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton were trading insults, with Drew declaring that Randy’s aura had long passed, everyone’s “favorite” maverick, Logan Paul, showed up to gatekeep Grammy-nominated musician Jelly Roll off the WWE stage (2025 – what a time to be alive). This led to several more clashes between the four, with Jelly Roll eventually declaring he wanted a piece of Drew and Logan, and Randy arranging for the clash to take place at SummerSlam.

Why we’re excited - WWE has a long history of celebrity involvement. From Mike Tyson to Drew Carey and everyone in between, Jelly Roll is the latest in a long tradition. Heck, even Logan Paul himself first entered the scene in a celebrity capacity (making his shots at Jelly Roll even more ironic; way to draw heat, Logan). Regardless of how Jelly Roll acquits himself in the squared circle, the sheer talent in this match makes it a must-watch. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see Logan Paul take an RKO to the face? Let’s just hope Jelly Roll can avoid a Claymore Kick in a similar situation. - John Narozanick
