College football week 6 games — Saturday, October 10
No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers at Nebraska Cornhuskers

Two unbeaten Big Ten teams meet in Lincoln at noon, and only one leaves at 6-0. Indiana, the defending national champion, is 5-0 and coming off a 47-15 win at Rutgers. The Hoosiers lost last year's Heisman Trophy winner and have kept winning anyway.
Nebraska is 5-0 for the first time since 2016, and this is the Cornhuskers' toughest test of the season. Their last meeting with Indiana ended 56-7 in the Hoosiers' favor. This time Nebraska has home field and a chance to show how much it's improved. For Indiana, it's a Big Ten road game and another opportunity to prove last season's title was no fluke.

No. 1 Texas Longhorns at Oklahoma Sooners

The Red River Rivalry rarely follows the script. Texas arrives at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas ranked No. 1, with wins over Ohio State and Tennessee that have made the Longhorns national title favorites. Oklahoma has a simple goal: end its rival's perfect season.
The oddsmakers favor Texas by more than a touchdown, but this series has a long record of upsets. The stadium will be split down the 50-yard line between crimson and burnt orange at the State Fair of Texas, and if the Sooners keep it close into the fourth quarter, the pressure shifts squarely onto the favorite.

No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels at Vanderbilt Commodores

Ole Miss comes to Nashville rested after a bye week and looking to move past a 52-28 loss at Florida. The Rebels expect star running back Kewan Lacy back from a shoulder injury, which would restore the centerpiece of their offense.
Vanderbilt started 3-0 and has since lost two straight, most recently 38-14 at Georgia. The Commodores are still unbeaten at home, and Ole Miss hasn't played in Nashville since 2022. Both teams need a win to steady their SEC seasons.

No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs at No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide

The night game in Tuscaloosa has the look of a College Football Playoff preview. Georgia and Alabama are both 5-0, and both score at a pace few teams can match. The Bulldogs lead the nation at 51.4 points per game and haven't trailed all season. The Crimson Tide are close behind at 49.6.
Georgia won the most recent meeting, 28-7 in last season's SEC Championship Game. The longer history favors Alabama, which has won seven of nine against head coach Kirby Smart's Bulldogs. Two undefeated SEC contenders, a prime-time kickoff, and a championship rematch make this the game of the day...and maybe the season.

NFL week 5 games
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars in London
The Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars meet at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, October 11 at 9:30AM ET, and the game airs on NFL Network. It's an early kickoff for an unusual matchup: a Jacksonville team at 3-1 with a +51 point differential, against a 2-2 Philadelphia team that lost back-to-back games and then lost two offensive line starters in two days. Oddsmakers list the Eagles as road underdogs by as many as 7 points, a spot they haven't occupied in years.

How the Philadelphia Eagles rebuilt their offensive line in 72 hours
Few franchises have leaned on the offensive line the way Philadelphia has, and this week tested that foundation. All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson retired Tuesday after anchoring 2 Super Bowl champions. A day later, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman sent Pro Bowl lineman Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2027 fifth-rounder and a 2028 second-rounder. Left guard Landon Dickerson was already on injured reserve with a knee injury.
The expected lineup in London has Jordan Mailata at left tackle, Willie Lampkin at left guard, Drew Kendall at center, Tyler Steen at right guard, and rookie Markel Bell at right tackle. Three of those 5 spots have changed since Week 1, and the group is in its first season without longtime line coach Jeff Stoutland. The Eagles have already allowed 12 sacks.
Why the Philadelphia Eagles will win: Experience
Two decades of reloading on the fly have earned this organization some trust. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has 7 touchdowns against 3 interceptions, and he does his best work when a play breaks down and he can use his legs. Short drops, play-action, and designed movement can slow Jacksonville's pass rush while the new starters settle in.
The injury report could swing in Philadelphia's favor, too. Running back Saquon Barkley and receiver DeVonta Smith have both battled hamstring injuries, and linebacker Zack Baun and cornerback Quinyon Mitchell are among several questionable defenders. Get even half of them back, and this looks little like the team that failed on all 12 of its third-down tries against the Los Angeles Rams.
Why the Jacksonville Jaguars' balance will lead them to victory
Jacksonville is efficient in every phase. Head coach Liam Coen's offense scores 26 points per game, converts more than 51% of its third downs, and hasn't come away empty on a single red zone trip. The defense allows 13.3 points per game, 2nd in the league, leads the NFL with 6 interceptions, and carries a +6 turnover differential. The Jaguars have outscored opponents 61-9 in first halves, the widest margin in football.
The defense ranks 26th in total yards allowed, yet it hasn't surrendered more than 20 points in 10 straight regular-season games. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence completes better than 69% of his throws with 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, and he just beat Joe Burrow for the first time in a 22-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Running back Bhayshul Tuten has 277 rushing yards, and a pass rush with 10 sacks now gets a line that's had 3 days to come together.
Buffalo Bills vs. Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football
The Buffalo Bills visit SoFi Stadium on Monday, October 12 at 8:15PM ET, with the game on ESPN and ABC. Both teams sit near the top of the Super Bowl odds board: the Rams are the favorite despite a 2-2 start, and the 3-1 Bills are close behind after losing to the New England Patriots as 6.5-point favorites. Their offenses share a blueprint, too. Los Angeles leads the NFL with 85 snaps in 13 personnel, and Buffalo ranks 2nd with 66. Where they split is in the scoring column. The Rams gain 417.0 yards and score 21.3 points per game; the Bills gain 386.3 yards and score 31.8. Los Angeles is a 3.5-point favorite, and the total sits at 53.5.

Why the Los Angeles Rams' roster will propell them to a win
Quarterback Matthew Stafford has topped 315 passing yards in 3 straight games, and he throws to 2 receivers who can beat any coverage. Davante Adams has 390 receiving yards, and Puka Nacua gained 162 against Buffalo in 2024. The Bills lead the league with 9 defensive holding penalties, a habit that's costly against this pair.
When the Rams go to 3 tight ends, they complete 69% of their passes at 10.0 yards per attempt, with 4 touchdowns and 1 sack allowed. Terrance Ferguson is on injured reserve, but head coach Sean McVay expects tight end Colby Parkinson and defensive lineman Aaron Donald to return. Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard has said his rush and coverage aren't yet working in sync. Stafford's quick release is the best counter to Greg Rousseau, the NFL leader with 6.0 sacks, and Bradley Chubb.
Can the Buffalo Bills reverse their scoring slide?
Buffalo still ranks 3rd at 2.95 points per drive, but the trend is heading the wrong way: 3.67 points per drive in Weeks 1 and 2, then 2.27 across the last 2 games. The Rams allow 145.5 passing yards per game, 2nd in the NFL, and the Bills' line has given up 9 sacks. Receiver D.J. Moore (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, and neither did defensive tackle Ed Oliver (knee) or slot cornerback Dee Alford (ankle).
Buffalo needs to let James Cook cook
Buffalo holds the clearest edge in the matchup on the ground. Running back James Cook runs gap concepts on 60% of his carries and averages 6.0 yards per attempt, good for 421 yards. Los Angeles allows a 53.6% success rate against man/gap runs, 21st in the league, and Buffalo's line ranks 2nd in Run Block Win Rate at 77%.
A working run game sets up play-action, which Buffalo calls on 31.7% of dropbacks (6th) with a peak EPA of +0.69. The Bills convert 53.3% of their third downs, while the Rams allow touchdowns on about 53% of red zone trips (21st). Quarterback Josh Allen has 1,039 passing yards, 118 rushing yards, and 13 total touchdowns, which makes every trip inside the 20 a threat.
