Meet the Cast of 'Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette' on FX
If you’re old enough to remember taking a trip to the supermarket during the late ‘80s and ‘90s, you almost certainly remember seeing the face of John F. Kennedy Jr. on a variety of magazine covers. People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” in 1988, JFK Jr. was a tabloid staple his entire adult life (to say nothing of the iconic images from his childhood). Yet it was also apparent that he never felt comfortable with the flashbulbs of the paparazzi, especially after he began dating – and eventually marrying – fashion publicist Carolyn Bessette. Their tragic death alongside Bessette’s sister Lauren in a plane piloted by Kennedy on July 16, 1999 was a lurid epitaph to not only Kennedy’s life under the microscope but a particularly invasive time in mass media.
The new FX limited series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette – premiering with three episodes on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 9pm ET – details their difficult relationship with the press, and especially the way intense public scrutiny affected their courtship. In fact, the smothering photographers and ever-turning heads become essentially anthropomorphized as the only serious obstacle between a man who was seen as the closest thing America has had to a Prince and a woman whose savviness with fashion impresses even Calvin Klein himself. Like the best shows spearheaded by executive producer Ryan Murphy, Love Story manages to humanize the ultra-privileged while dramatizing moments most of us were privy to only through long-lensed pictures in magazines.
It helps that Love Story found absolute ringers in its lead actors Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon. Here’s a look at the famous faces that make up the cast of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. To watch new episodes Thursday nights at 9pm on FX, tune to channel 136. Not a DISH subscriber? Follow this link to find the best offer and subscribe to DISH today!

It was a love story that captured the attention of the nation: John F. Kennedy Jr. was the closest thing to American royalty. The country watched him grow from a boy to a beloved bachelor and media sensation. Bessette was a star in her own right. Fiercely independent and with a singular style, she rose from being a sales assistant to an executive at Calvin Klein, and became a trusted confidante of its eponymous founder. John and Carolyn's connection was immediate, electric and undeniable. As their love story unfolded on a national stage, the intense fame and media attention that came along with it threatened to rip them apart.
