At the fourth and final Succession premiere party, the cast and crew recalled their last days of shooting, with actress J. Smith-Cameron reflecting, “It was terrible. It was a lot of people bawling our eyes out. It’s very hard to say goodbye to Succession.”
Indeed, the wildly popular series ends this month the way only a few great shows go out: in its prime.
Showrunner Jesse Armstrong said that while deciding to end the show was difficult (he even mentioned “[hoping] someone would talk him out of it”) there seems to be a natural shape and “rightness” in bringing the story to a close. The finale will air May 28.
