Who are the Favorites to Win?
Oppenheimer led all nominees with 13 nods, and most experts believe it’s a lock to not only win Best Picture, but Best Director for Christopher Nolan, and other technical awards like Best Cinematography and Best Editing. In the acting categories, Robert Downey Jr. and Da’Vine Joy Randolph are basically sure-things to win Supporting Actor awards for Oppenheimer and The Holdovers, respectively. Cillian Murphy is favored in Best Actor, with Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers) and Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction) possible spoilers. And in Best Actress, it looks like a coin toss between Lily Gladstone for Killers of the Flower Moon and Emma Stone for Poor Things.
