The 2024 Paris Olympics have flown by faster than the 100 Meter race. But before we begin the long wait for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, we have one last weekend featuring some of the biggest competitions of the entire 16-day event on the networks of NBC Universal.
With the U.S. Men’s basketball team surviving a semifinal scare against Serbia, they’ll face off against France in the Gold medal game on Saturday afternoon (Serbia and Germany will play for the Bronze on Saturday morning). Meanwhile, the U.S. Women’s basketball team advanced to their eighth consecutive final in a dominant performance against Australia in the semifinal. They too will play France in Sunday’s Gold medal game (marking the first time the championship in basketball will be played by the same teams), while Australia will face Belgium on Sunday for the Bronze.
In soccer, the U.S. Women’s team will face off against Brazil in the Gold Medal game on Saturday. And on Sunday, the 2024 Paris Olympics come to an end with The Closing Ceremony that will include Tom Cruise(!) performing some daredevilry, as well as musical performances from iconic French artists like Air and Phoenix.
All this is to say, it’s entirely possible that the 2024 Paris Olympics have saved the best for last. Here’s a look at select events to watch during the final weekend of The Paris Olympics.
