Hopper’s universal search with Netflix makes finding your shows easier than ever

Let’s face it. There are so many ways to watch TV shows and movies, it’s hard to keep them all straight. And when you know exactly what you want to watch, trying to find it across multiple entertainment sources can be a frustrating, time-consuming process.

This insight led us to ask: Wouldn’t it be easier if you could search for your favorite content across multiple sources at the same time?


One of our primary goals at DISH is to simplify your entertainment experience. A year ago, we became the first major pay-TV provider in the U.S. to add the Netflix app to our award-winning Hopper DVR. Now, we’re taking it one step further by integrating Netflix titles into our search results.

Available on DISH’s upcoming HOPPER 3™, the universal search functionality will work across DISH’s live, recorded and on-demand content, as well as Netflix’s selection of TV shows and movies.

One big perk of this integration is that Netflix titles will soon be populated in DISH’s episode lists to make it easier for you to find current and past seasons of TV shows. For example, if you’re interested in binge watching a popular show like ABC’s “Once Upon a Time,” the Hopper’s search results will reveal that the first four seasons are available on Netflix, while the latest episodes are in DISH’s on-demand catalog.


Universal search will launch on DISH’s upcoming HOPPER 3™ and connected Joey clients in the coming weeks, and will additionally roll out to Hopper 2 DVRs later this year.
