Hacksaw Ridge

The story of Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield), the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Medal of Honor. He served in WWII as a combat medic and refused to carry a firearm or use weapons of any kind.

Hell or High Water

Two brothers (Chris Pine and Ben Foster) begin robbing branches of the bank that lent them money they can’t pay back. On the case are two Texas Rangers (Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham) who have to profile the thieves and get a step ahead of them. The action turns relentless when the Rangers catch up with the brothers in the midst of their final heist and run them out of town, along with an armed posse, and try to stop them once and for all.


The story of Chiron (Alex Hibbart / Ashton Sanders / Trevante Rhodes) growing up amid drugs and violence. Though his circumstances are extremely difficult, Chiron finds a few occasions to really open up—only to be betrayed by people who initially protected him.

Manchester by the Sea

A drama set in Massachusetts in which Lee (Casey Affleck) returns to his hometown to look after his teenage nephew Patrick (Lucas Hedges) after they boy’s father dies. Unbeknownst to Lee, he has been designated Patrick’s legal guardian. The movie explores the effect of the unexpected burden on Patrick, who needs stability, and on Lee, who reflects on why he left Manchester-by-the-Sea in the first place.
