Art for the 2025 Grammy Awards on CBS

In spite of the devastating wildfires that have ravaged Los Angeles, the 67th annual Grammy Awards are still scheduled to proceed on Sunday, Feb. 2 live on CBS from the Crypto.com arena in downtown LA. Hoever, even though the show will go on, that doesn’t mean it will be the same old song and dance. According to CBS News, the Recording Academy – the organization behind the Grammys – will be “raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.”

“In challenging times, music has the power to heal, comfort, and unite like nothing else,” CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board of Trustees Chair Tammy Hurt said in a letter sent to Recording Academy members. “The Grammys will not only honor the artistry and achievements of our music community but also serve as a platform to amplify the spirit of resilience that defines this great city of Los Angeles.” The Recording Academy and MusiCares have also pledged $1 million dollars to “directly assist eligible music professionals in need.” As of Jan. 31, “the Recording Academy and MusiCares have distributed more than $4 million in emergency aid to over 2,000 music people affected by the wildfires,” according to Variety.
