DISH teams up with Frontier Communications to launch the America’s Best Communities Prize

Here at DISH, we believe in the power of small town America and those communities that form the backbone of our nation.

That’s why we teamed up with our friends at Frontier Communications to support the launch of the America’s Best Communities (ABC) Prize.  The $10 million prize competition will help smaller towns across Frontier’s 27-state footprint* to accelerate positive change and spur economic growth.

We understand small town America. Our company’s journey began in a remote area of Colorado with just two dish antennas that traveled the state on an old trailer. Through clear vision and commitment to innovation, we grew—becoming a nationwide industry leader in pay TV.  We think those same ideals can help small towns and cities continue their legacies – through economic growth, community health and innovative plans for the future.

Now, more than ever, towns across the country are in need of revitalization.  The ABC Prize challenges community members across the Frontier Communications coverage area* to think big and team up to revitalize the local economy in innovative ways.

Fifty quarter-finalists across the nation will each receive $35,000, with a $15,000 matching fund obligation, to define their vision and develop a plan to put it into motion.

From there, 15 semi finalists will be chosen to attend the America’s Best Communities Summit.

Eight finalists will receive $100,000 and support to bring their plans to life and share their stories along the way, leading to three winners who will take home $3 million, $2 million and $1 million.
