DISH Executive Vice President and General Counsel R. Stanton Dodge has been named as one of the 2014 recipients of the prestigious “Legends in Law” award by the Burton Awards Program in association with the Library of Congress. The award recognizes outstanding corporate general counsels in the United States.
“This is a true honor, and one that I am proud to share with the entire DISH legal team,” Dodge said. “Together, we’ve been able to continue the DISH legacy as a disruptive force for the benefit of consumers, and I’m grateful for this recognition from the Burton Foundation.”
After clerking for a judge on the Colorado Court of Appeals, Dodge began his career in the DISH legal department in 1996 and now leads a team of more than 40 that is responsible for the company’s legal and government affairs. Outside of DISH, he is actively involved in many community and philanthropic causes.
In 2013, Dodge was named by The Legal 500 to its inaugural Corporate Counsel 100: United States in 2013, recognizing the 100 most influential in-house lawyers in the US.
Dodge will be honored with other award winners at a ceremony at the Library of Congress in June.
