What can I get with my subscription?
Depending on your receiver model and if your receiver and PC are connected to broadband Internet, the amount of content included in your subscription will vary.
The table below shows what you will have access to with different broadband connected or non-connected receiver models. Every Blockbuster @Home™ subscriber will have access to rent DVDs by mail and, with a broadband connected PC, every subscriber will have access to 25,000 movies and TV Shows available to stream to PC.
What are "unlimited in-store exchanges"?
There is no limit to the number of mail-ordered discs that you can exchange at your participating Blockbuster store; however, you cannot exchange an in-store disc for another in-store disc. Mail-ordered discs can be exchanged for in-store movies (including Blu-ray and new releases) and $.99 or less video games. When you return that in-store exchange disc to the store, the next title in your Blockbuster @Home™ queue will be sent to you.
Free in-store movie exchanges count toward the plan maximum (the number of discs you can have out at a time). In other words, if a customer is on the '1 Disc Out' program, the next disc in their queue will not be mailed out until the in-store movie has been returned. In-store game exchanges do not count toward the customer's plan maximum and are subject to all of Blockbuster terms and conditions, rental terms, due dates and fees associated with any video game kept beyond the due date.
How do I browse movies and games?
At Blockbuster@Home™.com, simply click on the arrow next to the Movies or Television links for a drop down menu that displays all categories and genres. Use the menus to browse through categories and sub-categories of movies and TV shows. Simply hover your cursor over each menu, and you'll see a list of sub-categories to narrow your search.
The 'Search' function can also help you find titles available on Blockbuster @Home™. If you know the name of the title, or if you're interested in finding all titles with your favorite actor or director, type it in the search bar at the top of the page and press the blue 'Search' button. The most relevant results will be listed in the Search Results section.
Use 'Filter Results' to the left of the search results to narrow your results by movies and TV shows for more options.
What is available to me on TV and online?
Blockbuster @Home™ includes more than 3,000 movie titles available to stream to your TV, using your broadband connected receiver.
There are currently over 25,000 titles available on dishonline.com, to stream to your PC using your
broadband connection.
How do I rent with my subscription?
You can rent as many discs as you like, depending on your membership plan. Blockbuster @Home™ offers plans with 1, 2, or 3 rentals at a time. Simply add rentals to your Queue and we'll mail them right to you.
Your plan also includes in-store exchanges, so you can exchange your by-mail rentals for free movie rentals or non-new release game rentals at participating Blockbuster stores. Note: Franchise terms may vary. See your local Blockbuster store for more details.
To upgrade from the 1 Disc Plan to a 2 or 3 Disc Plan, please call 800-333-DISH(3474)
How do I manage my Queue?
Once you find the titles you like, you can add them by clicking 'Add to Queue' in the details page of the title.
Once titles have been added to your Queue, the button will automatically change to 'In Queue'.
You can click on 'Queue' in the top right corner of the page to view and manage the titles you've selected and enable additional Queue options.
Ways to prioritize titles in your Queue:
How to remove titles from Queue:
How to Sort Your Queue:
Titles are shipped automatically once you have added them to your Queue, generally by the end of the next business day, provided you have enough Available titles at the top of your Queue.
Titles that are past their release date are shown in the "Titles In My Queue" list. Titles that are not on disc yet (i.e. titles currently in theaters) are displayed in the "Not Currently Available" section.
Availability of movies can change from day to day and in order to avoid any disruption in service, try to keep 10-15 or more available movies in your Queue to ensure there are no delays in shipments. You will receive email notifications when your shipments have been processed—one for each disc. Once titles have been shipped to you, your Queue will show the new status along with the expected arrival date.
How do I exchange mail rentals in-store?
As a Blockbuster @Home™ subscriber, you have the option to exchange your mail rentals for in-store movie rentals (including Blu-ray and new releases) as well as $.99 or less video games at participating Blockbuster stores. When you return that in-store exchange disc to the store, the next title in your Blockbuster @Home™ Queue will be sent to you.
Use our 'Store Locator' feature to search for participating stores in your area. For participating stores, you'll see "Yes" in the column labeled Total Access. Blockbuster @Home™ plans include unlimited in-store exchanges per billing cycle. Simply take your DVDs and exchange them for a free movie rental or a $.99 or less video game at participating stores. When you return that rental to the store, the next title in your queue will be sent to you.
Note: Franchise terms may vary. See your local Blockbuster store for more details.
Can I rent video games by mail?
Along with renting thousands of movies from Blockbuster @Home™ by mail, you can also rent thousands of video games for Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and Wii by mail. Simply find a game you want to rent and add it to your Queue. And best of all, there's no extra cost!
How do I set my disc format preferences?
Your disc format preferences specify if you would prefer to receive movies in standard DVD or Blu-ray format. If you set your primary disc format to Blu-ray, then any time you add a movie to your Queue that's available in Blu-ray, you'll automatically receive it in that format.
To set your preferences, visit Settings on Blockbuster@Home™.com
Why can't I change a movie to Blu-ray within the Queue?
First, you need to make sure your disc format preferences are set. You can do this under Disc Format Preferences on the Settings page.
Second, there are some titles that are not available on Blu-ray. It is possible the title you are trying to change is not available in Blu-ray format.
How can I receive box sets or TV series?
You have the option to add a box set or series to your Queue either locked in a set or individually one disc at a time. When you add a series/set to your Queue, it is added as a group and indicated by a padlock icon. As long as you do not break the set (unlock the padlock), you will receive the titles in order.
Please note that if disc one in the set is not available, the others will not be shipped. If you break (unlock) the set, then they will not ship as a set and may ship in random order.
If you only want to add individual titles from a set, click on the box art, then click on the "See All Versions" link.
Can I rent bonus discs?
Many customers enjoy the extra features provided on a movie's bonus disc, but some would prefer to watch only the movie. We allow you to decide if the bonus disc should or should not be shipped. Simply click on "View All Versions" when browsing movies to see if there are bonus discs available for inclusion with your rental.
Can I rent 3D movies?
At this time, 3D version of movies are not available with Blockbuster @Home™ subscriptions or at Blockbuster stores.
How many game rentals can I rent per month?
You are allowed to have as many games out at a time as your Blockbuster @Home™ subscription permits. For example, if you are on a 3 discs out at-a-time plan, you can have 3 games out or 2 games and 1 movie out or 2 movies and 1 game out and so forth.
The online game rental will count toward the number of rentals you are allowed out at a time under your Blockbuster @Home™ subscription.
Blockbuster @Home™ subscribers may exchange online game rentals for in-store movie rentals (up to plan limits per billing month) or non-new release game rentals at participating Blockbuster stores.
Will I have an additional charge for video game rentals?
There is no additional charge for video games when you order games by mail; however, in-store game exchanges are limited to titles that are $.99 or less.
How do I check store inventory?
To find out if a store near you, or your preferred store(s), carries a particular movie or game, visit Blockbuster@Home™.com and look under the IN-STORE section of the details page of the title. The availability of your preferred stores or nearest stores will be shown here. You can also check other locations as well.
How do I rent and play Blu-ray discs?
To watch Blu-ray discs, you'll need a Blu-ray player, an HD-compatible TV and HD-compatible cables to connect them to each other. You can still watch a Blu-ray disc on a TV that doesn't display high-definition pictures, but you won't be able to take advantage of the stunning pictures and realism Blu-ray discs provide. Blu-ray players have been specifically designed to read all the information these technologically advanced discs can store, which is why they will not work in players built for standard DVD formats.
Blockbuster @Home™ carries titles in DVD and Blu-ray format if available. To find out which versions are carried for a specific title, click on the movie and select the 'View All Versions' link on Blockbuster@Home™.com.
Click on the Movies tab to find a link to our Blu-ray disc movies where you'll be able to browse through our current library of Blu-ray titles.
You can also setup your disc format preferences to always add the Blu-ray version of a movie to your Queue.
When browsing for Movies, click on the Blu-ray disc link in the left navigation column to browse through our current library of Blu-ray titles.
Keep in mind that, as new Blu-ray discs are released, your Blu-ray player may need a firmware update to be able to play newer Blu-ray discs. To find out how to update your Blu-ray player, please contact the manufacturer of your Blu-ray player.
Can I have my Blockbuster @Home™ rentals shipped to multiple mailing addresses?
No. Blockbuster @Home™ rentals can only be shipped to one address.
Can I have my rentals mailed to a temporary address?
No. Blockbuster @Home™ rentals can only be shipped to the billing address on your DISH account.
How do I update my shipping preferences?
You can choose from two different options to determine how you would like your online rentals sent to you, Speed or Order of Queue:
Speed: By choosing Speed as your shipping preference, we will ship a movie that is as close to the top of your Queue as soon as possible. Due to the availability of the titles in your Queue, it is possible that a movie may be shipped from anywhere in your Queue.
Order of Queue: By choosing Order as your shipping preference, we will ship movies, as availability allows, in the order they are listed in your Queue. We give you the ability to choose how many days you are willing to wait (up to 5 days) for the top movie in your Queue. If, due to availability, we are still unable to ship the top movie in your Queue in the specified number of days, we will ship a movie that is as close to the top of your Queue as possible.
When do you ship by mail rentals?
Discs are shipped Monday - Friday by USPS First-Class mail. Simply add movies to your Queue and they'll be mailed out automatically.
When you've finished watching the disc, just place it in the same postage-paid envelope in which it was delivered and put it in your outgoing mail.
You can also return your disc to a participating Blockbuster store in exchange for a free in-store movie rental or non-new release game rental. You can set your shipping preferences to help you get the movies you want faster.
You will be notified via email when selections are mailed and when returned items are received by a distribution center or at a Blockbuster store. Once your return is received, your next rental will ship in 1-2 business days, as long as you have enough Available titles in your Queue.
How quickly will I receive my rental?
Rentals should arrive within 1-3 days of shipment. Keep in mind that USPS delivery times may be affected by holidays, extreme weather and other factors. You can find the estimated arrival date of your rental, based on USPS First-Class Domestic Delivery schedules, in your Queue on Blockbuster@Home™.com. You will be notified via email when selections are mailed and when returned items are received. If you haven't received a shipped disc within 3 days, please use the 'Report Problem' link on the Queue page.
Keep in mind that you may also return mail rentals to your local participating Blockbuster store. You may exchange your mail rental for a free in-store movie or non-new release game rental.
What if I am experiencing shipping delays?
You should receive most rentals within 1-3 business days. If your shipments consistently take longer than this, please check your address information and ensure that your address and zip code are correct. To check your address information, please visit dish.com/myprofile.

What do the availability statuses mean?
Availability indicates the estimated wait it will take before this title will be available to ship to you. It is dependent upon many factors, including the number of copies we have, the popularity of the movie, and the priority you set in your Queue.
Available: Title is currently in stock, and we anticipate that it will be available for shipment when requested.
Short Wait: Title currently has a few more requests than copies available for shipment. We anticipate that the title will ship within the next 2 weeks.
Long Wait: Title currently has a high number of requests compared to the number of copies available for shipment. It may take 2-4 weeks before we can ship you the title.
Very Long Wait: Title either has a limited number of copies or an unusually high number of requests. It may take 6 weeks or longer before we are able to ship you the title.
Coming Soon: Title is either on order or is not currently available for rent. Please check the Release Date on the product detail page for title specific information.
On Order: We have ordered this title, and now we are just waiting for it to arrive at our distribution center so we can send it out to you.
Unavailable: We don't currently have any copies of this title in stock.
Unknown: Motion picture was released theatrically and the studios have not yet announced a DVD release date.
Some titles are produced by studios in limited quantities or for a limited period of time. Once the manufacturing run has ended, the title is no longer available for purchase. The title is then termed as being in "Moratorium", signifying the suspension or delay of sales, and "in the vault," symbolizing that film is no longer being distributed.
Another reason you may see titles in a wait status for long periods of time is because demand for those titles are much greater than we expected, and they are still rented out to other customers. Since we don't have due dates, it's difficult to determine a timeframe for these returns. If you want to get a title as soon as possible, you can keep it at the top of your Queue and set your shipping preferences to Order. However, it may cause a delay in shipment if it is unavailable. Keeping other available titles near the top of your Queue gives our system the opportunity to ship you other movies if your number one selection is not available.
What if I never received my rental?
Visit dish.com/myprofile to review your shipping address to ensure the information is complete and accurate.
If the address is accurate, contact your local post office to make sure that the rentals are delivered in your mailbox and not left in a visible location.
You may report this issue if you have not received the rentals after 3 business days of your shipment notification.
Go to the Queue section of Blockbuster@Home™.com and click the 'Report Problem' link on the right of the appropriate title. This function will allow you to have the same title(s) resent.
What happens if I don't return a rental?
Charges for unreturned in-store discs vary by title, and will be charged directly by the store with a refund issued if the disc is returned.
Charges for unreturned by-mail discs vary by title, and will be charged to your DISH bill 30 days after your subscription is cancelled with a credit issued if the disc is returned.
What should I do if I lost a rental?
If you have lost a title, sign in to your account, click on Queue and select the 'Report Problem' link for that movie, located on the right side of the page.
You can find additional information in the Blockbuster @Home™ Terms and Conditions on Blockbuster@Home™.com.
What should I do if I lost a return envelope?
If you've misplaced your return mailer, you can easily place two discs in one return mailer. This is the fastest way to return your rental to us. If you do not have an additional mailer, you can wait until your next rental arrives and return both together if you have a 2 or 3 Disc Plan. If this is not an option, you may request a mailer by visiting the Help section of Blockbuster@Home™.com and e-mailing your request. When requesting a mailer, it may take up to 5 business days to receive your extra envelope.
If you've only misplaced the white sleeve, you can return your rental in the return mailer without the sleeve.
You can also return your movie to your local Blockbuster store.
What if I accidentally returned a personal disc?
Let us know that you have sent us your personal disc by reporting this in the Queue section by clicking the "Report Problem" link on the right side of the page for the appropriate title to report the issue. An attempt will be made to try to return the disc to you, however, Blockbuster cannot be held responsible for personal discs sent to us in error.
What if I have a problem with exchanging in-store?
Your Blockbuster @Home™ envelope has a barcode linked to your subscription account. Our stores scan this barcode in order to identify exchange availability. Below are various reasons possible why a free in-store exchange may not be available:
How can I find closed captioning and subtitle information?
Subtitle information (if available) can be found by clicking the "See All Versions" link in the Movie Details section of a specific movie.
Once you've clicked on "See All Versions" you can view the Language and Subtitle information (if available).
